We are coloured suri breeders living in Le Bons Bay on beautiful Banks Peninsula. Our farm sits at 370 metres and has a varied climate, hot summers and snowy winters. We are 80 km from Christchurch city in the South Island of New Zealand.
Our goal is to breed commercial, fine, lustrous, dense animals, especially black, in preparation for the elite fibre industry of the future. We have selected Accoyo and Allianza genetics for the foundation of our herd with animals from New Zealand, Australia and America.
CANCHONES CHALLENGE HAS ARRIVED!
We are pleased to announce that Challenge has arrived in New Zealand! Challenge is a multi-award winning male with many championship ribbons under his belt. (add link to canchones show results page) He is an incredibly dense blue-black male jointly owned by Thistledown and Canchones. He completed a successful year of ET before crossing the Tasman. His first cria has recently hit the ground and the results are very exciting.
Challenge will be used in-house this season, but there will be a few females pregnant to him for sale. See females for sale for details.
THISTLEDOWN SOLOMON
Thistledown Solomon is now owned by Ann and Stuart Weir of Te Kowhai Stud. He is an incredibly fine black male and his progeny so far are carrying this fleece trait. We wish Ann and Stuart well with their breeding programme.
AANZ
We are members of the AANZ.
Molly is an approved AANZ judge.
